Our Very Merry Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas! Dave is off work the entire day this year, which doesn't happen often and we certainly don't take for granted. Dave got home from work close to midnight last night, so our morning didn't start very early. Sam went out and ran a 5K before his sister was awake. We laughed because our neighbors with little kids already had all their trash out before we even began our celebration. I made a breakfast casserole, then we sang Christmas hymns together and took turns reading the Christmas story in Matthew chapters 1-2 and Luke chapters 1-2. We all agree that before any presents are unwrapped, this is the very best gift. Nothing can ever top the amazing gift of Jesus, born to die and save us!
After breakfast, singing, prayer, and Bible reading, we opened our stockings. Dave likes it when we wrap all the little things inside our stockings. All of us got lots of yummy treats, including Marble.
Once again this year, we all received way more gifts than we could possibly deserve! Aunt Mary mailed thoughtful gifts, and so did the NC Nobles. As always, Grandma and Grandpa Noble and Nana and Papa Neusch spoiled all of us. We are so blessed and feel very loved.
Samuel and Bethany gave their dad a new metal detector since the old one broke. Dave gave Samuel his first shaver. Bethany got make-up and a Caboodle to organize it. Bethany gave us a gag gift of Donald Trump playing cards. Dave gave Lisa fancy maple syrup. Samuel gave his dad some mechanic gloves. Bethany also received t-shirts, games, puzzles, money, craft supplies, and jewelry. Samuel's gifts were mostly edible; he also used money from his grandparents to buy prescription sunglasses. Bethany used Christmas money to buy a fancy automatic curling iron. Heather Noble mailed me delicious homemade cowboy candy (sweet jalapenos). Overall, we had a wonderful day! Thank you to all of our loved ones!
